Pefkoulia
Pefkoulia: Large sandy beach with very clean waters and pine trees that reach the sand. Its amazing turquoise waters and its idyllic environment make it perfect for endless hours of sunbathing. It has easy access, is partly organized but doesn’t get crowded as other popular beaches do during the peak of the summer. Beyond the big rock, there is an area for nudists.

Agios Nikitas
This small beach with clear blue waters is preferred mainly by families. It is located in the traditional resort of Agios Nikitas, it is organized and offers many choices for coffee or food. When the island is crowded we suggest that you arrive early in order to find a parking spot. On its left side, between Mylos and Agios Nikitas, there is another wonderful beach called Amoudoula. You can go there only by swimming and you will also find there the Fokotrypa cave.

Mylos
Mylos: One of the most beautiful and less well-known beaches of Lefkada. Its sand is white, its waters are deep and turquoise. It’s truly stunning, especially if you look it from up high. You can get there with a 20-minute walk (we suggest that you wear sneakers) from the scenic path that starts in Agios Nikitas or by taking a water taxi from the beach of Agios Nikitas (during the summer months the boat routes are very frequent).

Kathisma
Kathisma: Once the favorite of campers and nudists, it is today Lefkada’s most cosmopolitan seashore, organized with umbrellas, loungers, beach bars, and restaurants. The sand is white and pebbly, the sea blue-green. If you stay on the beach until the time the sun sets, you will have the chance to see what is probably the most impressive sunset in the Ionian Sea. Take care, however! When the northwesterly wind is strong the waves are high and it is best not to attempt to swim.

Kalamitsi Beaches
(Kavalikefta – Megali Petra – Avali)
There are three sand beaches near this village, with turquoise waters, white pebbles, sand, and rocks for all preferences. There is a canteen and a few umbrellas and deck chairs. The road towards there is a bit difficult because of its narrowness but when you get there you will be overly compensated.

Gialos
Gialos: Just before Athani there is a big sandy beach, also for campers and with a canteen. The crystal clear waters of all shades of blue blend harmonically with the green vegetation offering you a unique sense of tranquility.

Egkremnoi
Egkremnoi: A famous beach 2 km long surrounded by impressive cliffs, considered one of the best of the Mediterranean. The landscape resembles the Caribbean, the water a transparent aquamarine and pristine. You can access the beach by taking a small boat from Nydri or Vassiliki.

Porto Katsiki
A strip of pure white sand at the foot of a towering white rock: the picture is familiar as it was awarded the prize of the loveliest beach in Greece. The most impressive of all the beaches in Lefkada, with an extraordinary natural landscape. Follow the downward road with the 100 steps that starts from the parking space (which is full of canteens). You can also get to the beach by taking a small boat from Nydri or Vasiliki. However, when there are high waves, you should pay extra attention even if you are an experienced swimmer.

Agiofylli
Agiofylli: One of the island’s best, in a very pretty cove to the left of Vassiliki. The waters are pure blue-green. You can take the little boat from Vassiliki or go along the path beginning from the southeastern side.

Vassiliki
The village’s beach, beloved by windsurfers. It is classed among Europe’s three best beaches for windsurfing. This is where the international water sports festival takes place (www.vassiliki-watersports-festival.com). The sea is invariably calm on the west side.

Ammousa: Close to Vassiliki. You get there by a detour of the main road at the village of Marantohori. It is small, with pebbles and there is a taverna, a café, and residences.

Below Poros village, a peaceful and attractive beach with pebbles where the sea is unpolluted, in sheltered Rouda Bay and nearly always calm. There are camping sites, hotels, and restaurants in the area.

Dessimi: In a bay on the outer shore of Vlychos peninsula. It is small and shady and perfect for canoeing, to explore the little sandy coves and caves along the coast. It is pebbly, with two organized camping sites in the bay.

Lygia – Episkopos – Nikiana – Perigiali
The beaches of the eastern side begin just after the picturesque harbor of Lygia which is 6 km from Lefkada town. As far as Nydri (17 km from town) you will find countless and quiet beach spots. The scenery is striking, especially in the Nikiana area and the greenery reaches almost to the water’s edge. There are restaurants and lodgings all along the coastline.
